The IT Senior System Administrator is responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, performance tuning, and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems.
This IT Senior System Administrator serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for Windows operating systems as well as a specialization in at least two of the following: VMware, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Microsoft Exchange 201x,
Microsoft SCCM, and Cloud services (Azure, Office365, AWS).
This position also recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications.

Provide engineering solutions for various project and operational needs
Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
Contribute to and maintain system standards
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks; identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs
Provide Tier II/other support per request from various sources; investigate and troubleshoot issues
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures; coordinate and communicate with impacted departments
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
Responsible for driving the Satellite Healthcare culture through values and customer service standards
Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers
Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication
Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner
Minimum Education & Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Associates degree in information technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Eight (8) years of Systems Administration experience including:
Eight (8) years production Windows (2008 and higher) systems or server administration experience
Five (5) years software technical support experience in at least two of the following specializations:
Microsoft Exchange 201x
Cloud services – such as Azure, Office365, AWS
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of PowerShell scripting
Ability to manage a multitude of assignments independently
Strong customer service and oral/written communication skills
Experience troubleshooting complex systems issue
Certification on MS Exchange preferred
Must be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advance notice
