The Biomedical Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance for all medical equipment in their assigned centers. This position performs all repair and maintenance according to Satellite Healthcare documentation, industry standards, and local, state
and federal regulatory requirements. The Biomedical Technician is responsible for assessments associated with the QAPI program (Quality Assessment Performance Improvement) within Satellite Healthcare. This position is also responsible for cost containment
as it relates to supply and parts inventories.
Essential Functions:

by all Satellite’s standards of patient care, patient’s rights and ethical treatment, and adhere to safety and quality programs.
Responsible for technical operations for their assigned centers including in-center, home therapies (WellBound) and hospital services (Acute programs), if applicable
Ensures accordance with manufacturers’ instructions and recommendations, follows company regulatory compliance procedures, and all local, state, federal regulatory requirements
Performs monthly assessment of the centers’ QAPI reports for regulatory compliance to identify opportunities for improvement
Responsible for purchasing and inventory management of supplies and equipment necessary to keep the center functioning properly
Coordinate with Regulatory Compliance to provide Technical Services support needed during natural disasters or emergency situations
Responsible for required preventative maintenance program as prescribed by the manufacturer and Satellite policy, including support documentation for all water treatment equipment, and related mechanical and electrical systems
Ensure defective parts with associated RGA (return goods authorization) and warranty parts are returned
Perform water/dialysate sample collection and processing per applicable policies and procedures
Review, evaluate and report water/dialysate quality results per applicable policies and procedures. Perform and ensure water treatment equipment disinfection following applicable policies and procedures
Responsible for driving the SHC culture within the Technical group by modeling core values and customer service standards
Requirements
Minimum Education & Experience:
High School Diploma, G.E.D or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering preferred
Six (6) months experience working in an industrial/medical technical setting
Current CPR certification
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to independently travel to assigned locations as needed
Able to work flexible hours according to the needs of the business
Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office
Able to read, write, speak, understand and satisfactorily communicate with others in English in person, over the phone and via email
