Satellite Healthcare

The Acute Center Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Acute program. This includes, but is not limited to patient care, personnel, technical services, and financial management. Ability to assess and proactively address potential patient

and/or staff safety issues. The Acute Center Manager is a liaison to physicians in regards to patient information, and company policy & procedures. This position also communicates with patients, direct reports and hospital personnel. This position acts

as a team leader who educates and mentors staff members as appropriate. The Acute Center Manager provides nursing support services to the Acute Program for patient care, as needed.

Patient Management

  • Patient Care Supervision: Observes and records patient's responses to renal failure and its treatment; directs and supervises the care of the patients on dialysis; performs thorough patient assessments as evidenced by documentation

  • Critical Results/Situations: Uses professional discretion in critical or emergency situations and directs the necessary intervention; recognizes changes in patient's condition on dialysis and makes necessary adjustments in their therapy; provides appropriateinformation to the physician, and implements physician's orders

  • Patient Schedule: Provides oversight of and/or prepares the patient schedule and makes staff assignments based on priorities for patient care; maintains on-call schedule; consistently reviews and evaluates patient priorities as changes occur in the conditionof the patient; directs staff in work assignments to address these changes

Management

  • Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI): Supports and contributes to the Quality Improvement Plan for the Acute program; identifies areas of improvement and collaborates with Territory Director and Medical Director to design and implement planof action

  • Infection Control and Vaccinations: Ensures employee compliance with all infection control policies and procedures; ensures all potential infections are correctly documented and appropriate care is rendered

  • Renal Network Compliance: Follows guidelines and goals in accordance with the legislative mandate for the ESRD Network Program

  • Staffing: Promotes a teamwork approach by offering information, advice, and assistance to all unit staff member in a positive, courteous, and cooperative manner; assists in staff scheduling and interprets staffing policies; arranges and/or provides coveragefor scheduled and unscheduled absences

  • Staff Meetings: Responsible for conducting staff meetings to address any areas of concern and to ensure proper communication between all staff members

  • Focal Reviews: Participates in employee appraisals; supervises, evaluates, and determines clinical competency in conjunction with the Territory Director

  • Policies & Procedures: Provides oversight of policies & procedures and acts on non-compliance including notifying the Territory Director; ensures staff documents thoroughly and correctly; effectively communicates new policy & procedure updates

  • Budget: Monitors operating and capital budget to ensure containment of controllable costs

  • Infection Control and Vaccinations: Ensures employee compliance with all infection control policies and procedures; ensures all potential infections are correctly documented and appropriate care is rendered

  • Ensures that the hospital storage units, supplies, and equipment provide safe and effective treatment for all patients

  • Ensures that the hospital storage units are neat, clean, organized, and uncluttered

  • Ensure compliance with Satellite Healthcare's procedures for reporting

  • Understands legal consequences of immediate and long term nursing actions; adheres to all policies in the Employee Conduct Expectations in the Employee Handbook

  • Contributes to harmonious and constructive working relationships with all staff members

  • Responsible for driving the Satellite Healthcare culture through values and customer service standards

  • Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication

  • Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience:

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or equivalent, BSN preferred Experience:

  • Twelve (12) months of nursing and/or management experience

  • Nursing supervision, leadership experience and quality management experience preferred Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Current CPR certification

  • CNN or CDN certification preferredAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifyingMinimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
